A visit to Exuma, Bahamas lets you be as lazy or adventurous as you want to be. If you want to explore all that Exuma has to offer, here are some of our favourite activities.
The beautiful soft, powdery sand beaches and crystal blue seas of Exuma beckon you to enjoy walks on the beach, swim, snorkel, explore and kayak, and so much more. While you may not want to wander far from your comfortable, spacious Beach House and refreshing pool with its spacious deck, and all the property and beach offers, there are also a number of excursions and experiences to enjoy. If you wish to try snorkelling at other cays and waters, scuba diving, kite-surfing, swimming with the pigs, fishing, or tours to Starfish Bay, the Blue Hole, or other islands, our property managers will gladly provide recommendations. Reservations/arrangements are made with Service Providers directly.
Take a water taxi from Georgetown to tour Stocking Island with its salt tower and famous Chat n’ Chill beachside bar and grill; swim or stroll along the famous Coco Plum, Exuma Point or Tropic of Cancer beaches, or swim with the pigs at Big Major’s Cay. We also highly recommend a boat trip to Sandy Cay – some of the most incredible clear water and sand you’ll ever see – and visit with marine iguanas.
For the essentials, Georgetown offers several good grocery and liquor stores, as well as The Straw Market for local crafts, bags, and souvenirs.
Our favorite restaurants include Coco Plum Bistro, Blu on the Water Restaurant and Bar (a must-visit), The Rusty Anchor at February Point, and further east in Williamstown, Little Exuma, the oceanside and very good Santanna’s, and Tropic Breeze. Check out nearby Mom’s bakery for freshly baked goods (especially her delicious Rum Cake!) and ask us where you can purchase local fresh grouper and lobster to cook on the grill!
Big Major’s Cay is home to these friendly creatures. It all began in the early 1990s with five baby pigs (four females and one male) and the number has grown. Don’t miss this chance to make new friends with Exuma’s most famous residents!
Take a half or full day trip and travel the cays to visit the marine iguanas, swimming pigs, starfish, Thunderball Grotto, sea turtles, and so much more!
Take a water taxi from George Town to Stocking Island and hike to the beacon to experience incredible views, and enjoy fresh conch salad, volleyball and feeding the stingrays at Chat n’ Chill.
This graceful crescent of white-powder sand borders translucent blue-green water. Named for its geographic coordinate and also known as Pelican Beach, it is the longest beach on Little Exuma and prettiest in the chain.
This national treasure encompasses 16,800 acres of pristine beaches, sand dunes, mangrove creeks, seagrass beds, blue holes, and coral reefs. The wide array of habitats provide an abundance of bird life and marine life to explore.
